A recent viral Tik Tok video of the “green dress lady” on a first date at the Cheesecake Factory caught my attention. There are some essentials for dating that seem to be so obvious they should not need to be mentioned; however, it seems that lately there are a lot of people that have forgotten (or never learned) these basics. The result has been a lot of disappointment and frustration. It’s unfortunate that great candidates for dating have simply given up and feel that a positive dating experience is so elusive it is no longer worth the effort. I’m a firm believer in remaining optimistic in the dating arena. With just a few tweaks, it’s possible for more people to do better! Let’s explore some of the basic lessons learned from the disappointing date of Ms. Green Dress Lady.
“It’s really clear that the most precious resource we all have is time”– Steve Jobs
The subjects of time and dating seem to go hand and hand. However, as time passes it becomes clear that if your love life is not a priority, it can easily be neglected.
Comfort and Joy! The holiday season can be challenging for single people, especially over a certain age. With so many friends and colleagues wrapped up
What a great time to celebrate love! After all the world has been through the last couple of years, it’s clear that we can all use more love in our lives. The COVID-19 pandemic showed us the importance of being patient and kind with one another. The isolation we all faced only emphasized the power of connection once we were able to gather together again. The losses of loved ones to the horrible illness gave us a renewed appreciation for every moment we spend with those we can’t imagine losing. We are all very fortunate and should embrace love on every level—individually, as a family, in each community, nationally and globally! And Valentine’s Day is the perfect occasion to do just that.
The unwelcoming body language. The questionable fashion choices. The “This could have been an email” demeanor. Is Senator Bernie Sanders your nightmare blind date scenario or the poster child for Cuffing Season???
Cuffing Season is real, and we are in the midst of it currently. If you’re not already familiar with the trend, now is the time to learn more and take control of your situation. It’s not too late to improve your love life!
As the Lao Tzu quote says “The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step”. Our well-heeled Vice President Kamala Harris steps into history today. She has followed her own path to this achievement, embracing love along the way and will make us all very, very proud.
The new year brings new opportunities for change. Most importantly, it allows the chance to acknowledge the great things ahead and reset our intentions. While this year may be different than the past, there will be moments of lighthearted fun and celebration! Get ready for all the excitement and awesomeness ahead! 2021 will be an amazing new year!
